This morning at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis celebrated Mass and gave a homily on the meaning of Christian joy (more details, summary video).

Today Pope Francis received in audience some European leaders, particularly: President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, President of the European Council Donald Tusk, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Angela Merkel (summary video).

Plead For The Consolation Of God

This evening for the solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, Pope Francis presided and gave an address at the prayer vigil to “Dry the Tears” in St Peter’s Basilica for everyone in need of consolation (full text, full video, summary video).

Today at St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis held a General Audience and spoke regarding God going after the lost sheep (full text, full video, summary video). Make That Prayer To The Spirit

Today overlooking St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis gave a Regina Coeli Address on signs of the presence of the Holy Spirit (full text, full video, summary video). Also in the address, he made a plea for an end to violence in Syrian city of Aleppo. Additionally, he greeted those in the Orthodox Churches who are celebrating Easter today. Of the address, I liked how he suggested addressing the Holy Spirit itself for assistance:

For example, when every day you read a passage of the Gospel — as I have recommended to you — ask the Holy Spirit: “That I might understand and that I might remember these words of Jesus.” And after reading a passage, every day … but first, make that prayer to the Spirit, who is in our hearts: “That I might remember and that I might understand.”
